Mary-Margaret is a strategic communications expert, who the past two decades has helped companies navigate the changing -- often confounding -- media landscape. During her career, she has worked for some of Toronto’s best public relations agencies (i.e. Fleishman Hillard, GCI Group, Media Profile) and national non-profits (i.e. Special Olympics Canada, the United Church of Canada, Canadian Doctors for Medicare). She is a skilled writer. Also, she has been fortunate to win industry awards for creative excellence and media relations.
In agency, mmj worked with McMillan LLP, most home entertainment companies (Warner Bros., MGM, Sony, 20th Century Fox), managed the CBC News & Current Affairs account, and even oversaw media relations for the Kalachakra tour for His Holiness the Dalai Lama. Her own consultancy's client list included mobile gaming companies, environmental NPOs, Koskie Minsky LLP, the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario and a variety of thought leaders.
More recently, she worked as the Communications and Outreach Director for Canadian Doctors for Medicare where she led strategic planning, media relations, stakeholder engagement and all other communications efforts on high-profile files such as the Cambie Case, Canada Health Accord and pharmacare.
Mary-Margaret is presently on a contract with the the Ontario Public Service where she works as a communications strategist with the Ministry of Indigenous Affairs. She is open to serious full-time and freelance opportunities.
